Laying awake
The boy couldnt sleep
His dreams kept him up
The Places he'd go
The People he'd meet
A smooth shimmering river
Beneath the northern sun
The soothing breeze
Under the shady tree
He rested his soul
He rested his feet
He began to slip away
He saw faces from before
Familiar ones
Friendly, lovely faces
He didnt care for races
Ages, colors, or braces
So many sights
hiding places
And bright lights
Minutes to hours
Hours to months
Nobody is after him
He looks to the west
He looks to the east
A vast landscape
That our forefathers
explored
He had no words
Everything they told him
Everything.. was a lie
Dazed, angry and confused
He grew exahausted
His dreams turned to
Statues
His mind forgot of the lights
The warmth, the sights
The sound of cool water
The lonely boy
Lay asleep
He prayed to god
His soul to keep
