The Silent Tree

She grows unseen
Behind a valley of green
She watches you crawl on your knees
She watches you bleed
She stands above you
Keeping you cool in high degrees

You burned her leaves
She watched in grief
You kicked her shins
She simply grins
She won't get upset
She is wiser than you

She stands at peace
Whether alone or in threes
She keeps her integrity
Locked inside, deep
She's heard your words
Accepts your pleads

She gives you comfort
In the worst of times
When it's hot
Or when it's cold
You seem to overlook her
Even when she stands 10 feet

She looks into your eyes
But hers you can't see
She gives you a hand
But you can never reach
You take away her heart
But she can still breathe

She listens to your sorrows
Very carefully
She understands your thoughts
But can't share her wisdom
She has no mouth
You can never hear her speak
